Managing Washington’s Working Forests – Washington State has 23 million acres of the most productive forestland in the country. Of these, 16.2 million acres are classified as commercial, or “working” forests and have been managed for a century or more. In addition to producing wood and paper products, these forests generate oxygen, filter water and provide wildlife habitat. These brochures are available in hardcopy.
